About
Research fields:
Analysis of organizational communication and public relations, cultural analysis with a socio-semiotic orientation, analysis of the text-image relation.
Specialist of semiotic and socio-semiotic, I analyse the forms of contemporary organizational communication, including business and non-business organizations. I work in particular on environmental communication, climate change communication and nuclear communication analysis.
In my research career I have worked also on cultural forms of the early-modern period, and in particular on illustrated spiritual books, analysed from a socio-semiotic point of view, and on food culture analysis; I keep these research fields as subsidiary subjects, and I am interested in developing forms of cultural analysis.
I made a doctoral thesis in semiotics (University of Bologna, Italy), on the analysis of text-image relations in Jesuits literature between XVI and XVII century.
I have been post-doctoral researcher for two years (2007-2009). During this period, I developed a form of cultural analysis, with a semiotic orientation, of texts and symbolic images of the early-modern period.
From the academic year 2009-2010 on, I am full-time lecturer in public relations and organisational communication (for USA readers: assistant professor) at the ESPO faculty (UCL, Belgium).
